The best way to stop a deadly threat is to use deadly force. An armed campus is better protected against deadly threats than a disarmed campus.
It is very important that a campus is ready, willing, and able to address a deadly threat. Part of being ready to address a deadly threat is to allow the carrying of firearms by anyone who chooses to do so. Another part is that those who choose to carry firearms attend training that teaches them how to better use their firearm, and how to be mentally prepared to use it, should the need arise.

Unfortunately, The vast majority of college administrations have chosen to advertise to the world that their campus is a perfect place to kill many innocent people, and that there will be very little resistance until the police arrive many minutes later. They refuse to allow weapons on campus, even by those with a concealed carry permit!
The best advice they give you is to hide, run, or play dead. [ 1 ], [ 2 ], [ 3 ]. They never want you to fight back! They say “Attempting to overcome the armed subject with force is a last resort that should only be initiated in the most extreme circumstances.” and “The last option you have if caught in an open area in the dorm, may be to fight back. This is dangerous, but depending on your situation, this could be your last option.” [ 4 ].
College administrators will tell you that the police are the answer - they are trained on how and when to use their weapons. Relying on the police to stop a deadly threat is irresponsible and could cost lives. It is important that deadly force be immediately available to stop a threat, and not minutes away.
By simply arming campus citizens, it is possible to reduce the severity of an attack, and even prevent an attack from taking place.
This site will show you which campuses, by policy, have allowed or disallowed the carrying of firearms by campus citizens. We hope that as time goes on, college campuses will change their policy and allow their campus citizens to carry firearms on campus.
